UN Financial Aid and Global Grants: How to Verify Opportunities
A guide to finding legitimate assistance programs and checking eligibility through the organization responsible for the support.
Start with the official program owner
Use the United Nations agency or recognized humanitarian organization’s official website to locate current programs. The United Nations global issues directory provides topic context; country-specific aid is often administered through national authorities or local partner organizations.
Verify a grant before sharing personal information
- Confirm the opportunity appears on the official organization domain.
- Check eligibility, location, deadline and the named implementing partner.
- Contact the agency using a phone number or email found independently on its official site.
- Do not send passwords, banking PINs, gift cards or advance “processing” payments.
What applicants should prepare
Requirements depend on the program. Read the official notice for accepted identity documents, proof of residence, application language and submission route. Keep copies of submitted materials and ask the administering organization how it protects applicant data.
